We are the Home of the Original 'Bison Brand'

Alberta is filled with a rich history, including the Alberta Bison. These Bison inhabited the area for thousands of years while being intertwined with our province’s indigenous peoples. Providing sustenance, materials and spiritual guidance. Once abundant, they were nearly eliminated by hunting in the late 19th century dropping to an estimated 250 animals. Today, conservation efforts have helped to reintroduce and maintain Bison populations, allowing the free-range herds to thrive. They are still considered “At Risk”. The Bison is considered to be one of only a small handful of Alberta’s rare icons. So, it was not a hard decision to choose this icon to represent the Arjazon Seed Trading’s brand around the world, while also spreading a little of Alberta’s heritage.

The design of the first white and green Bison branded bags were hand drawn, using the Bison as the focal point. The release of these first 2,000 bags went on to open all new international markets. Then, by the end of 2022, clients were requesting a more colorful design. In early 2023, a completely new and colorful design was created, while also incorporating the original handdrawn design, giving us the beautiful new Bison branded bags we use today.
